I recently had the great pleasure of designing a logo for a baby bedding company in Kansas City. I had a great time working on this logo. I was around 8 months pregnant when I worked on this logo so I was definitely in “baby-mode.” I love the way the final logo turned out. The final version is above and some of the original concepts are shown below.
DeGraf Design Wins a Ranly Award
On April 8, 2010, publication professionals from around the state of Missouri attended the 4th Annual Ranly Publications Awards Ceremony and banquet recognizing outstanding magazines, newsletters, web sites, e-zines, and e-letters. I was honored to receive a Ranly Award for Best Cover (Consumer, less than 25k circulation). The cover that won this award was the Candy Coburn cover of March/April 2009 issue of L•O Profile Magazine. Competition was sponsored by the Missouri Association of Publications. You can read more about this award on the L•O Profile website here.
Junge’s Lake Deer Camp Shirt
My friends, Ashly and Cameron, asked me to design a shirt for Cameron’s annual Deer Camp in 2009. This is the final printed shirt. The antlers that are on the shirt are the silhouette of an actual set of deer antlers that one of the participants shot. Below is the front/chest panel design and some of the alternate concepts that were designed.
Happy Holidays from the DeGraffenreids!
Baby Zoë has Arrived!
I will be posting more about baby Zoë on my personal blog! You can check out the first post of her here.
Baby Zoë has arrived!
Baby Zoë made her big debut last week, 10-12-10. I plan to share all of the details of her birth sometime soon when I get the time. (Yeah, right!) She is such a sweet good baby so far —I couldn’t ask for better. Max is adjusting to life with a little sis. We have our moments, but he loves her so much already. It’s so neat to watch them interact. I have lots more to share about her, but for now, here is a pic. . .
Palms Logo Initial Concepts
This is a project I worked on a few years ago. This shows the initial 4 concepts that I developed for Palms Tanning and Massage. The client really wanted to use a palm tree as part of the brand, so a few of the samples incorporate that. After a couple of revisions, this is the final logo that we arrived at. The client was very pleased and it was a fun project to work on. Now who feels like getting a massage?
Zoe’s Taggie Blanket
Being in a craft mood of late, I’ve been busy making a few things here and there for the arrival of Baby Zoe (or as Max says. . . Baby OOOEY). Max loved to chew and play with tags on toys when he was a baby, so I have always thought these little lovies were such a great idea. With stuff I already had, I was able to whip up this cute little taggie blanket. I’m sure it will be her favorite toy once she realizes toys exist and figures out how to work her hands. LOL!
Up-Cycled Clothes for Zoe
When I unearthed all of Max’s baby clothes, I was surprised by how many plain, white onesies he had. Wowsa. Then a couple of weeks later, I ran across these great iron-on appliques (the bird and the owl) and this Sukie iron-on transfer book at JoAnn’s and decided to add a little pizzazz to a few of these white shirts. Here are some of the ones that I did. Since these turned out so cute, I went back and purchased a few more appliques to add to shirts for Max. I’ll post those when I get them made. One is going to have his name on it in varsity letters. It’s going to be so cute!
Heart of the Ozarks PBW Logo Design
The Heart of the Ozarks Professional and Business Womens’ group asked me to create a new logo for their Lake of the Ozarks Chapter. The creative brief described that they wanted to use red as their main color and they wanted the logo to include a heart graphic to support their “Heart of the Ozarks” name. I created 5 initial design concepts. The logo below is the final logo that they chose and have implemented.
